Cosmin Manolescu is a choreographer and the executive director of the Gabriela Tudor Foundation.
He has worked alongside important personalities of the dance world such as Baguet, Christian Trouillas, Ko Murobushi, Gesc Gelabert, Allyson Green, Alain Platel and others. His performances were successfully shown in Bucharest, New York, Paris, Lyon, Rome, Dublin, Porto, Amsterdam, Beirut, Riga, and Stockholm. Since 1998, he has been running dance workshops for children, actors, professional dancers, for the general public and for persons with disabilities in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Sfantu-Gheorghe, Uzes, Istanbul, Stockholm, Porto, Luxembourg, Riga and has participated in various international projects of artistic research in Berlin, Lisbon, Paris, Potsdam, Tokyo etc.
Since July 2012 he is the artistic director of ZonaD – studio Paradis Serial (http://zonadstudio.wordpress.com/) where he organises workshops and contemporary dance classes for the general public and for professionals. At the moment, along with Stefania Ferchedau, he is running the European Union- financed project E-Motional: Rethinking Dance (www.e-motional.eu). He initiated the artistic exchange programme Romania-Japan Eastern Connection which will be finalized in November 2015 with the performance of a contemporary Romanian and Japanese dance show.
In over 15 years of professional activity, Cosmin Manolescu has organized over 150 choreographic projects and has had a major role in promoting and developing contemporary dance in Romania.
Mr Manolescu will be joining the ICon Arts Academy Sibiu in 2015.
