ICon Arts Academy & Festival - the 10th edition (22 July - 5 August 2012)

Launched in 2003, ICon Arts has become one of the most complex independent European events in contemporary arts.

Each year, Sibiu County (Romania) hosts around 150 young musicians, dancers, actors and photographers from all over the world, which are drawn here by the exceptional environment for experiencing inter-cultural exchanges, professional development and self-management programs, concerts, competitions and workshops held by renowned international artists.

Among our special guests in the Festival program, you will also find some of our finest teachers that have worked with us during our 10 years of existence and, of course, as in any true celebration, we have reserved a few surprises you are welcome to discover "on site".

The 2012 highlight is our affiliation to the "Sibiu Baroque Update" touristic and cultural theme. This gives us the opportunity to approach a wide repertoire, from a special, meta-baroque perspective. Our challenge to you is to find new, contemporary meanings, in the familiar elements of music history.

Placed in attractive, non-conformist spaces and using both classical instruments and electronic devices, this year's concerts Festival will bring you more excitement and, why not, more public to share it with.

The registration period for the ICon Arts Academy is open form 1st of March until 1st of June 2012.
