– call for applications -

About the programme

“The programme Composer in Residence was born within the climate of the ICon Arts Sibiu summer school, against the musical background of practicing participants in the Performance and Music sections. “What would it be like if you had a group of professionals just for yourself, to help you refine a piece live, from the first draft up to the final bar?” Dedicated to young writers of new music, this workshop takes place during the ICon Arts Sibiu Festival, as a parallel event.

Since the first edition, in 2013, 25 composers have been part of this programme, creating 25 brand new pieces of contemporary music which premiered in Sibiu, Thalia State Philharmonic Hall.
